Elton John recently delivered an emotional speech at the curtain call for The Devil Wears Prada musical, praising his husband, David Furnish, as his “rock” amid his ongoing health struggles.
The 77-year-old music legend, who has been battling vision issues, was seen on stage at London’s Dominion Theatre thanking the show’s producer, cast, and crew.
He also expressed gratitude toward Furnish, noting that his husband had been supportive, especially since John’s eyesight has deteriorated, making it difficult for him to attend previews.
John, who has been dealing with vision loss due to an eye infection, shared with the audience that he hasn’t been able to see out of his right eye for four months, and his left eye isn’t in great condition either. Despite these challenges, he remains optimistic, calling himself “the luckiest man in the world” and continuing to explore treatment options.
Earlier, in an interview with Good Morning America on November 25, John had revealed the severity of his condition, admitting that the loss of vision had deeply affected him, but he remained positive about his future.
