St. Peter’s Church in Lucerne has launched an AI-driven Jesus hologram for confessions.
Created by a team of theologians and computer scientists, the AI is programmed with New Testament teachings and can answer questions in 100 languages.
While about two-thirds of visitors described it as a spiritual experience, some felt the responses were too general.
The initiative is intended to encourage debate on AI’s place in religion, with a possible future role in pastoral support.
However, critics view it as a novelty, raising ethical questions about the use of AI in matters of faith.
