Sean “Diddy” Combs seemed confident about his upcoming release from jail as he spoke with Kanye West over the phone. In footage of the call, obtained by The Shade Room on March 17, the music mogul, who is facing charges related to racketeering, sex trafficking, and prostitution, shared advice with West. “Be careful out there, ’cause they definitely trying to end us,” Combs warned, referring to the recent controversial behavior of West, who has been engaging in antisemitic and misogynistic social media rants.
Combs expressed optimism about being acquitted at his trial in May, stating, “They can’t do it and they ain’t gonna do it. I’m going to beat this s— and get next to you.” During the conversation, Combs emphasized the severity of the situation, saying, “This s— is wicked, wicked, wicked, so you be careful.” He also encouraged West to “have some f—— fun” and to disregard those “wasting” his time. “When I get out there, man, I want to see you f—— tear down the stadiums,” Combs urged, adding that he wanted to see West back on stage, rapping, and performing again.
Combs expressed his belief that the two have “years and decades to fight these motherf——,” with West agreeing, “Yeah, it’s time for me to just grab the mic and get back on. It’s like I love music again.” Additionally, Combs thanked West for supporting his seven children while he’s in prison, expressing how much it meant to him. “Ain’t nobody reach out to them, ain’t nobody call, you know what I’m saying. Nobody,” Combs confessed. West responded, “Yeah, absolutely. I love you so much, man. It’s like you raised me even when I didn’t know you.”
The phone call was released shortly after West dropped a new song featuring Combs, who recorded his part from prison. The track also included West’s 11-year-old daughter, North, despite ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s legal objections. Kardashian had attempted to block her daughter’s participation, citing her legal control over the children’s names, but West proceeded to release the song.
