United Airlines has reported finding loose bolts and installation issues on multiple Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft.
This comes after a panel blew off an Alaska Airlines-operated plane mid-flight.
Air Current stated that United discovered discrepant bolts on at least five panels during inspections post-accident.
The FAA and Boeing have not commented. United mentioned finding installation issues in the door plug during preliminary inspections and will address them to ensure aircraft safety.
The incident involved a new Alaska Airlines 737 Max, with a cabin panel blowing out, leading to an emergency landing.
Boeing shares dropped 8%, impacting the aftermath of production delays and the 2019 737 Max safety grounding.
The FAA ordered a temporary grounding for checks on 171 Max 9 jets with the detached panel, affecting Alaska and United Airlines flights.
Boeing’s CEO, Dave Calhoun, addressed the incident in a companywide webcast.
